Complex retail logistics processes are our DNA
METRO LOGISTICS is a logistics company based in Germany with around 1,500 employees. We developed a logistics network for the METRO Group’s retail stores and supermarkets that optimally supports the highly dynamic and complex processes involved in retail logistics. We have done more than just established nine company-run multi-user logistics centres at major German hubs, along with an extensive distribution network and our own vehicle fleet. We also developed modern IT structures that ensure logistics processes can be carried out more quickly, more reliably and more flexibly than ever.
Our services
We operate nine of our own multi-user logistics centers with a storage area of about 500,000 square meters. The service portfolio includes warehouse and distribution logistics, including food logistics with 7 temperature zones. But METRO LOGISTICS is not only strong in food logistics, our solutions range from temperature-controlled products, consumer goods to large items handled in 2-man handling.
More than just Storage and Delivery
Anyone looking for an optimal logistics company should not only look at the locations and warehouse capacities, but above all at the experience and flexibility of the logistics partner. For example, a high degree of flexibility is required for the dynamic e-commerce business in order to be able to react immediately to fluctuations. As a 4PL service provider, METRO LOGISTICS also manages procurement and transport logistics for various retail companies. In addition, we offer attractive value added services as well as consulting services. We have developed in-depth expertise in the planning, coordination and management of logistics in order to control goods with the greatest possible efficiency along the entire supply chain.
